As everybody has probably seen, the government yesterday has extended the lockdown conditions for a further three weeks. This of course means the Canterbury Care Centre will remain closed for at least this time.
As this is an ever-changing situation, Katherine and the Executive Committee are monitoring both the Government’s advice, and the position of our Landlords, The Diocese. A decision will be made to re-open as soon as it’s safe and responsible for us to do so.
We know how hard some people are finding the lockdown, but now is the time to work together to defeat this virus. Please follow the Government’s advice at all times and respect the measures put in place.
We are missing you as much as you’re missing us. In the mean time, stay safe and keep in touch.
All of us at the Canterbury Care Centre
A very sad day for us here as we temporarily close due to Coronavirus.
A massive thank you to everyone that has supported us, and we can’t wait to open again once this is over. Please continue to monitor our website and social media accounts for updates on our re-opening.
Stay safe, follow Government advice and.....Remember, always look on the bright side of life...
COVID-19 (CORONAVIRUS) UPDATE 17/03/2020 15:40
Dear Trustees, Members, Staff and Volunteers,
Reluctantly we have made the decision to close from Monday the 23rd of March in line with Government and Church of England guidance.
Initially we expect to be shut for a month, but will continually review our position and that of The Diocese who are our landlords.
This decision was reached very reluctantly as we know the impact the work we do has on our lovely members, but feel we can’t put you, them and your families at risk of what is proving to be a potentially very serious illness.
We will keep you updated on our website and Facebook page but please feel free to email or telephone for an update, or a chat. My home number is 01372 458345.
Stay safe and best wishes,
Katherine, and all of us at the Canterbury Care Centre
