Volunteering at the Canterbury Care Centre

Without our wonderful volunteers, the Canterbury Care Centre could not function...
We are truly thankful for each and every person who choses to give up some of their time to volunteer with us. Quite simply, we could not function without you!

Our volunteers help out in a range of areas:
-Helping with activities
-Having a chat and cup of tea (or coffee!)
-Preparing lunches
-Driving (mileage allowance paid)
and many, many more....

Many people who choose to volunteer have no prior experience in mental health.

If you are interested in hearing more about volunteering, please feel free to get in contact using the form below.

Volunteer Testimonials

“ My role I feel is to enable people to feel free to experiment. I work with individuals sometimes guiding the hand of an artist or try to inspire those who feel stuck. The most important thing is to make people feel welcome. If they’re in a place where they just want to talk and have a cup of coffee that’s fine”.
Claire, volunteer artist
“On the last Friday of the month I sing and play baritone ukulele or guitar. I like to do a mixture of songs, some for people to sing along to if they want, some to get feet a-tapping. It is good to be amongst friends, enjoying music together”.
Tim, volunteer musician
